Kennebunkport Lodging SpecialsKennebunkport’s Own Brewery

As many visitors of The Captain Jefferds Inn know, Maine is a pinnacle of fresh seafood. Visiting the ample Kennebunkport restaurants will prove how strongly seafood is ingrained in the culture here. Out of all the spots we have in town, there is one that stands out not just because of its seafood, but its beer. Federal Jack’s, built on the historic 19th-century shipyard is quintessential Maine. There, the combination of food and fresh-brewed beer is hard to top not just in town here, but in all of Maine!

Straight From the Tap

A short walk over the Kennebunk River separates this venue from our Kennebunkport bed and breakfast. The Kennebunkport Brewing Company is tied in with Federal Jacks. Dating back to 1992, Kennebunkport Brewing Company is actually the birthplace of Shipyard Brewing Company’s handcrafted ales. High demand for their beer required Shipyard to move to a bigger venue in 1994, but Kennebunkport Brewing still resides there today. They are an English-Style brewery featuring almost exclusively ales. They brew 7-barrel batches of their beer, which yields 217 gallons daily. Expect fresh when you get it off the tap!

Last Call

Before you take off, make sure to stop at the Kennebunkport Store. There, you will have the opportunity to take their beers home! Growlers and bottled beer, as well as kegs, pint glasses, and apparel, are also available at the store. This unique Kennebunkport restaurant also offers brewery tours every day of the week, so you will be able to see the process of how some of the best ales in the state of Maine are brewed.
