White Columns Kennebunkport is typically only open to visitors from Memorial Day through Columbus Day. When the holidays roll around, however, the doors open back up for a series of rare and festive events. Those dates are December 6th through the 14th, in 2019.
Kennebunkport Christmas Prelude is loaded with lots of fun holiday events. So many, in fact, that it can be hard to choose which to attend!
White Columns Kennebunkport
White Columns is a stunning example of Greek Revival architecture, located at Spring and Maine in Dock Square. The home was built in 1853 and remained in the Perkins-Nott family for 130 years before being passed to the Kennebunkport Historical Society.
Today, the iconic mansion serves as a delightful window to Coastal Maine’s Victorian era. Fascinating, docent-led tours treat visitors to tales of the family, life during the Victorian era, and 200 years of Kennbukport history.
Many of the home’s original, 19th century furnishings are still intact. These include stunning examples of hand-painted (and arsenic laden!) wallpaper, hand-hooked carpets, antique chandeliers and more.
But wait until you see it elaborately decorated for the Christmas season!
